About John S. Dykes
In addition to raising Giant Australian White Bellied Sea Eagles, John S. Dykes enjoys a wide variety of painting and drawing. Works range from editorial and corporate illustration to children's books and personal projects. John works in acrylic, pen and watercolor, collage and digital. Moon phase dictates medium. He creates his digital pieces under the name Leo Acadia (because it is quite different than his traditional techniques). John has exhibited in the Society of Illustrators annual shows, he has won gold and silver awards from The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles and has been recognized by Communication Arts, American Illustration, Print, How Magazine, 3x3 Illustration Annual, and Step by Step Graphics, Folio Show - silver award, and the R.S.V.P. portrait show... Editorial clients include Time, Newsweek, U.S.News, Businessweek, Wall Street Journal, N.Y.Times, Boston Globe, L.A.Times, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly, Atlantic Monthly, Sports Illustrated, Money, Barron's, Smithsonian Magazine, National Geographic, Readers' Digest, Forbes, Fortune... John lives and works in Sudbury, Massachusetts (outside Boston by about 17 miles).
